CALI

Cali, officially Santiago de Cali, is a Colombian municipality, capital of the department of Valle del Cauca and the third most populous city in Colombia.

It is located in the southern region of the Cauca Valley, between the western mountain range and the central mountain range of the Andes. The city is part of the Metropolitan Area of ​​Cali, along with the municipalities surrounding it. It was founded on July 25, 1536 by Sebastián de Belalcázar, which makes it one of the oldest cities in America.

The city is one of the main economic and industrial centers of Colombia, besides being the main urban, cultural, economic, industrial and agrarian center of the southwest of the country and the third nationwide. As departmental capital, it hosts the headquarters of the Valle del Cauca Government, the Departmental Assembly, the Departmental Court, the General Prosecutor’s Office, State Institutions and Organisms, it is also the headquarters of official companies such as municipal EMCALI.
